For Authors
Submit ManuscriptThe UCLA Journal of Law and Technology (“JOLT”) invites all professors, attorneys, industry professionals, students and other individuals whose work or studies pertain to technology issues to submit articles for publication in JOLT. Submissions must meet the following standards to be eligible for publication.
CONTENT
In addition to groundbreaking scholarly and scientific articles, we seek to publish material of a more practical nature aimed at doctors, business people, legislators, government employees, engineers, students and members of the general public.
FORMAT
All citations included in the submission should conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (21st Ed.).
APPLICATION
Please submit a complete submission application through Scholastica. A complete application includes the following documents:
- An electronic copy of the article in Microsoft Word;
- An abstract of at least 150 words;
- A table of contents;
- A resume or curriculum vitae including the author’s address, phone number, and e-mail address;
If the article contains material already copyrighted by another source, JOLT asks that the submitting author obtain written permission from the copyright holder to reproduce the item. A copy of the written permission must be sent to the below postal address:

PROCESS
A panel comprised of JOLT staff members will carefully review each submission and contact all authors when publication decisions are made. JOLT is on a biannual publication timetable. If a submission is selected for publication, JOLT will request that the author sign an agreement granting JOLT electronic publication rights to the article. The author will retain all other publication rights and may submit the article to other law journals that print in hard-copy format only.
